Omer Faruk Kuzu

RESEARCHER

I received my Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics at the Penn State University Hershey College of Medicine, USA. During my Ph.D., I studied the mechanism of action of a novel anticancer drug that we have identified, and investigated intracellular cholesterol transport in cancer cells. After that, I joined the Weill Medical College in Qatar as a postdoctoral researcher and worked on identifying novel genetic mutations causing severe neurogenic disorders. I then joined to the Saatcioglu Lab and have been working on a variety of projects that involve different proteins/signaling pathways with a role in prostate cancer. In addition to a wide-ranging experience in molecular and cell biological research, I have a personal interest in bioinformatics and have broad expertise in genomics and analysis of Next Generation Sequencing data, including development of specific bioinformatics software.
