Fatemeh Hasanzadeh Moghadam

Ph.D STUDENT

I am a PhD student at the Saatcioglu Lab in the Department of Biosciences at the University of Oslo (UiO). I received my MSc in molecular biology at UiO with a thesis on cognitive neuroscience; I also have experience working in pathobiology, stem cell and breast cancer laboratories before starting on my PhD. My project centers around the unfolded protein response (UPR), one of the prominent stress signaling pathways implicated in cancer. I am investigating how the different arms of UPR function and interact with one another using various gene targeting methods in vitro and in vivo. Outside of the Lab, I usually spend my time painting, doing different types of sports (e.g. boxing, skiing, and swimming), wandering in nature, reading books, and meditating (including sessions in an art and meditation group).
